New randomised and controlled trial published in Manual Therapy in August 2016 looked at manual therapy in joint and nerve structures combined with exercises in the treatment of recurrent ankle sprains. The group that hand ‘hands on’ therapy and exercise had significantly better outcomes than those who just did the exercise.
Unfortunately my colleagues in the NHS are not encouraged to be ‘hands on’ any longer and just to become exercise coaches.

Another worthwhile piece of research backing up the use of home exercise in OA Knee management. The analysis believes that both home exercise programs with and without supervised clinic-based exercises were beneficial in the management of knee OA. I’m not sure where the time has gone but we have been here just over a year now!
And what a year it has been! We have taken over the clinic, seen a complete overhaul of the premises, added new equipment, new patient management software, credit and debit card facilities and lots and lots of new faces that have never stepped inside the clinic before. I am delighted with the first year and forward to adding some new faces over the coming year.
After 12 years at Henfield Medical Centre private physio, Sue Baldwin has now decided that the time is right to retire from the clinic. She spent 11 years under Adrian Schouten whilst he serviced both NHS and Private Physio requirement at Henfield Medical Centre.
She has been a fantastic servant to the clinic and the people of Henfield over the last 12 years and we would like to thank her for all her hard work and we wish her well in her retirement and new ventures.
